Holy shit, Its been a minute!

Damn I cant believe its been almost 6, no wait 7 weeks since I last made a blog post... well actually that makes me very happy, as it means i just didn't have time...

I have been a very busy man over the last 6 weeks, for 4 of those weeks I was entertaining and road tripping around South Africa with Thomas Morgan (L.A) and Shon Lindauer (N.Y.C)

This was a very eye opening and inspirational trip, inspirational to make shit happen and get on the map, I think driving through South Africa in my beat up Renault I realized

how far off the map I am, but not just me there is more to it... or do i mean less? fuck I'm not sure, but i am sure things are changing, and its the cliche of "get the fuck on or stay behind", far behind. But more on this later... full write up on this coming ASAP with photos

Lighthouse Supply... I have a new website ready to rock, i just need to allocate the time to finish it off with loading the products ... this will all happen soon.

I have Stencil Stuff on the way!! if anybody wants some hit me up, read good prices, and I mean REAL good. Lighthouse is a Authorized dealer. 8oz and a new 4oz bottle available!

Sharks of April

Tattoo Artist Magazine issue #23 and #24 is now in stock, finally... our local postal service reverted to their undeniable retardation... took them, I think a good 4 weeks to get it processed... it was shipped 6 weeks ago, but thats not the point!

They are in stock! Get yourself a issue of each now, only 17 of each available!!

Its the middle of the month and I'm not exactly sure how that happened, its a bit blurry up until this point.

Been taking Sam Rulz around town and just shooting the shit, needless to say she is pretty damn rad! We went to Boulders Beach a week ago to go swim and play with the Jackass Penguins, cool little critters and always nice and refreshing to see foreign people's reactions to them, reminds me of how naively we take the most amazing things for granted in more than one way... humans are are really good and being stupid.

The past weekend Sam and I went on Shark cage diving mission... I was reluctant to go on the trip at the initial thought of it, being a surfer its a bit of a contradiction, with the myth of shark cage diving taunting sharks and making them human aggressive, i understand the argument from both sides... But it was a super dope experience, very informative and educational... and damn are those sharks gnarly...

I will have more to write soon and have loads of stuff to share! here are some photos!!

March(ing) out the door!

March is over, Im not normally excited about time passing, but March is not welcome here anymore! April holds way to much to be excited about, so does May... but ill get to that...

So we are basically not close to finished with the shop yet... its been 8 weeks in the making and still doesn't feel like we are even close to "there" yet, what and where ever "there" is. The shop is 100% open for business, on the tattooing side that is, we only started with LHS's section today... yes, only today... not sure what we have been doing, looking back we have done LOADS but still feels like too little, not really taking into perspective that it was only us building, no contactors, only some concrete geniuses from Germany, who's builds concrete skate parks for a living in north Europe, hard mother fuckers, check them out: http://www.anker-rampen.de/

We basically rebuild everything, only thing original about the building is the outside structure... any way its getting there, Rome wasnt build in a day... neither was this fucking shop.

On to April, so stoked to have the amazing tattoo artist, Sam Rulz gracing our presence from the 2nd till the 20th of April here in the Cape of Storms... She will be guest spotting at Sins of Style... come stop by and make a booking, getting tattooed by her is something you HAVE to to while she is here...

And then on to May... i cant wait to get started on that... will announce some amazing news for May little deeper into April

Stay True

LUCAS FORD

They are all in and Available!

The holy liner is a good low compression mid range, med speed liner, best suited for 5s and 7s but turn it up and it'll bang nines all day.

Holy Shader is the quicker of the three and good n punchy, it really gets it done.

This Liner is FAST and strong, cutback

The shader is a good all rounder, strong and punchy with a little slower hit

Black chrome coil tape on these, both run really nice, fast strong liner and a snappy shader.

LHS and SOS, 22 Hope Street

Most are aware that I have been busy setting up a new shop for Lighthouse once again.

When Lighthouse started out mid 2010 I set it up in showroom / industrial location for the fact that it was all I could afford and it made the most sense at the time, that little spot served me so much good in a 6 month period, I wont even go into it... I dont want to tell and you dont want to know.

Now that Lighthouse has established it self as a Supplier setting out to do what it was supposed to with no strings attached and supplying a small part of a very conscience tattoo industry in SA, with the best of the best. It was time for the next logic move... find a better location, but its almost as if the better location found "us", and when I say "us" I'm talking about Sins Of Style (SOS) and Lighthouse Supply. The shop that we have moved into now, 22 Hope Street, Gardens Cape Town has a weird connection with me, I went to view this available shop around 8 months before with my girlfriend as she was looking for a shop at the time, and my words where "what a rad tattoo shop that place will make", couple of months later David's girlfriend went to look at the shop, and they where "what a rad tattoo shop that place will make"... Showed Tyler and the rest is history...

Tyler B Murphy's Sins of Style is one of the most reputed local custom tattoo shops, recognized as that locally and internationally. With 3 of the best and most defined tattoo artist in town, Tyler B Murphy, Lee Herbert and David Chaston, with the purpose of LHS and vision of SOS, it is the perfect collaboration to have a good time and making a difference, and of course the personal benefit for me of being surrounded with better artists pushing my abilities to new heights. Truly fucking stoked.

I will update this post tomorrow with photos of the new shop, still loads to do but pretty damn good none the less.
